On the evening of the much anticipated premiere of the Sex and the City movie release, Gloss threw a fabulous bash. VIP guests came in dressed to the nines and sipped on Cosmos, ate hors d'oeurves by Plate, shopped, and had photos snapped by the paparazzi. Some lucky guests were also treated to some amazing prizes: a pair of shoes from Yarid's at the Broadmoor, an Origins gift basket, a Gloss gift card, and an Audi weekend getaway in Breckenridge! Later the crowd was chauffered off by drivers at Phil Long Audi in their dashing Q7s to the brand new Hollywood Theatre, where they were treated with free tickets to the Sex and the City movie. This was an evening even Carrie Bradshaw would enjoy!
Starlight Starbright Foundation hosted a wine tasting event at Gloss, organized by Dawn Doucette of Starlight and Holly Trinidad of Hoff and Leigh Commercial Properties. A few members of Starlight spoke about the importance of the organization and how they help seriously ill children and their families cope with the situation. Later Dave Harmon of Carneros Della Notte vineyards, who flew in from Napa Valley, lightened the mood by showcasing his amazing wines. The evening brought a huge turnout and guests did a little wine tasting, a little jean shopping, and a portion of sales from both Gloss and the vineyard went to benefit Starlight. The end of the evening brought a raffle where 1 lucky winner won tickets for NW Airlines! A great time was had by all who attended.
April 1, 2008 marked the beginning of a brand new annual charity event created by Gloss called Put a Smile on a Child. Because of one of the owners, Lisa B's background in social work, her heart goes out to the children in our community and she wanted to come up with a way to keep kids who are involved in CASA (court appointed special advocates) entertained during the summer months. The event ran from
April 1 to May 15 and the first day was kicked off with Fox 21 News at the store announcing the details! With the help of our partner, Magic 98.9, children received tons of goodies and treats including: passes to Mr. Biggs, kids meals from Wendys, movie tickets, Park and Rec passes, haircuts from Toni and Guy, passes to Skate City, food from Louie's Pizza, and fun
hats from Elope. Overall, Put a Smile on a Child was a huge success and will be a wonderful new tradition for Gloss
and Colorado Springs.
Gloss hosted an invite-only VIP Fashion Show and luncheon showcasing our new Spring styles. Among the lines on the runway were Miss Sixty, True Religion, PJ Salvage, Hudson,
Ed Hardy, and Havianas. Guests enjoyed a lovely spread catered by Plate World Cuisine and were treated to fun giveaways and gifts.
